I met Chessie & Andy while we were all in grad school at Simmons College in Boston. We were all studying Library Science and wanted to be archivists. I ended up leaving the program after a year, realizing it wasn’t for me (and going on to get my MFA!), but the both of them were 100% doing what they loved.
I remember sitting with Chessie in the student lounge and her telling me about the cute guy that she had seen and being really excited. If you’ve been to library school, you know it is predominantly women and there’s a serious cute guy shortage. They ended up talking and getting to know each other, and hitting it off!
So obviously I was so excited when they asked me to be their wedding photographer! Chessie & Andy had their wedding at the Loring-Greenough House in Jamaica Plain, MA. It was a perfect blend of their love of books, vintage, and cute details. I could tell how much detail and planning went into making it 100% representative of their relationship and the things they love. Instead of cake for all of their guests, they had a cupcake truck from the Cupcakory (and the peanut butter one was to die for). Chessie ordered handmade paper flowers from Etsy as well as vintage wedding eye glasses from there as well. Guests could find their place settings in repurposed card catalogues, and each table had handmade cut book sculptures on them. The whole wedding was perfect for them in every way, and I had so much fun!
Special shoutout to my second photographer, Ashley from She of the Woods.
