Chessie & Andy - Loring-Greenough House Library Wedding, Jamaica Plain, MA

I met Chessie & Andy while we were all in grad school at Simmons College in Boston. We were all studying Library Science and wanted to be archivists. I ended up leaving the program after a year, realizing it wasn’t for me (and going on to get my MFA!), but the both of them were 100% doing what they loved.

I remember sitting with Chessie in the student lounge and her telling me about the cute guy that she had seen and being really excited. If you’ve been to library school, you know it is predominantly women and there’s a serious cute guy shortage. They ended up talking and getting to know each other, and hitting it off!

So obviously I was so excited when they asked me to be their wedding photographer! Chessie & Andy had their wedding at the Loring-Greenough House in Jamaica Plain, MA. It was a perfect blend of their love of books, vintage, and cute details. I could tell how much detail and planning went into making it 100% representative of their relationship and the things they love. Instead of cake for all of their guests, they had a cupcake truck from the Cupcakory (and the peanut butter one was to die for). Chessie ordered handmade paper flowers from Etsy as well as vintage wedding eye glasses from there as well. Guests could find their place settings in repurposed card catalogues, and each table had handmade cut book sculptures on them. The whole wedding was perfect for them in every way, and I had so much fun!

Special shoutout to my second photographer, Ashley from She of the Woods.

Camp Denison Wedding - Georgetown, MA. - Mary & Shawn

This set of photographs is particularly special to me because Mary and Shawn are good friends of mine and I was lucky enough to be invited to be a part of their day.

A little over a year and a half ago, I was spending the day at the Topsfield Fair with Mary and two of our friends, Moriah and Shannon.  We split a fried onion blossom and pet farm animals while Mary told us about the first date she had scheduled for later that night.  Little did we know, she would be meeting her future husband - Shawn!  They bonded over beer (Shawn works at the Harpoon brewery in Boston) and after whirlwind romance, they were engaged.  Embracing the untraditional, Mary and Shawn decided that they wanted to elope in Iceland with a private ceremony for just the two of them to share.  To celebrate here in Boston with their friends and family, they decided to throw an offbeat send-off party a few days before flying out.  Renting out Camp Denison for the weekend in Georgetown, MA, Mary and Shawn had a beautiful and truly rustic handmade party.  Gathering in one of the cabins the day before, I helped them arrange flowers and make DIY decorations and favors.  It was a beautiful weekend and I'm so happy for the both of them!

Rowes Wharf Harbor Wedding - Boston, MA. - Ronnie & Vanessa

It's still snowing here in Boston, can you believe that?  There seems to be no better temporary cure for the snowed-in blues than to look at all the weddings from warmer and sunnier seasons.  I had the pleasure of shooting Ronnie & Vanessa's wedding with Paul Blackmore in downtown Boston right on the waterfront.  Ronnie and his groomsmen got ready in the Boston Harbor Hotel before heading out with me to the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway for photos.  After the wedding, the couple and all of their guests headed out for a harbor cruise on the Odyssey.

Stage Fort Park Wedding - Gloucester, MA. - Beth & Jill

The snow is still coming down here in Boston and I've been thinking about warmer days.  Beth & Jill got married last summer with a small and intimate DIY ceremony at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester, MA.   The day started out warm and grey but luckily, the sun came out just in time and they ended up having a beautiful day.  With help from their friends, everything was lovingly made by hand, which made for a unique and personal ceremony.  I had a great time getting to know and sharing their day with them!
